What A Night It Was!

What a night it was!  On November 17th, 175 people attended After Hours @ The Library, where they met popular authors, listened to live music, and enjoyed delicious food supplied by local restaurants and caterers. The After Hours raffle and, new this year, silent auction, created quite a stir as attendees purchased tickets and placed their bids in hopes of winning one of the terrific prizes worth thousands of dollars. An incredible 40 local businesses generously donated all of the prizes, showing their support of Waterloo Public Library.

Thanks to the support of attendees, prize donors and sponsors, we raised over $8500. These funds will be used to purchase technology-related items to be used in our free programs.

In 2016, over 37,000 people of all ages attended programs at Waterloo Public Library. We are proud to be able to offer members of our community the opportunity to learn and experience new technologies, free of charge, that they might otherwise not have the opportunity to try.

Thank you to our guest authors Andrew Pyper, Donna Marie Pye, Carrie Snyder and Ian Hamilton, and to our media partner, The Waterloo Region Record. Special thanks to our food station sponsors e.v.o. kitchen, Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria, Little Mushroom Catering, Just Love Pie, Winnie’s Gluten-free Kitchen and Bhima’s Warung. Without your enthusiasm and support, After Hours @ The Library could not have been the success it was.

Also thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and came out for this very special event.  Your devotion to and interest in Waterloo Public Library is just amazing.  We are fortunate to be part of such an awesome community.
